The Diffusion of Innovation which was developed by E.M. Rogers, tries to explain how products or services go from being brand new to a novelty to an accepted product or service. What Rogers found over the years was a consistent progression. A 15% adoption number is achieved, the product or service becomes mainstream throughout the industry. According to experts, a 50% adoption rate will be achieved for cloud-based pos systems across the restaurant category by 2021.
